New postage stamp dedicated to 2017 Aurora prize laureate Tom Catena

On June 4th, 2018, “HayPost” CJSC has cancelled and put into circulation a postage stamp dedicated to the theme “Aurora humanitarian initiative. Laureates of “Aurora” prize. Tom Catena”.

The postage stamp with nominal value of 350 AMD is printed in “Cartor” printing house in France with print-run of 15 000 stamps. The author of the stamp’s design is Alla Mingalyova, a member of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative team.

“HayPost” CJSC has issued a donation coupon for 150 AMD attached to the postage stamp. “HayPost” CJSC will transfer 150 AMD donation value to the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative.

The postage stamp depicts the second Aurora Prize laureate Doctor Tom Catena, who saved thousands of lives as the sole surgeon permanently based in the war and famine-ravaged Kordofan Province in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan.

The postage stamp was cancelled by 2017 Aurora prize laureate Dr. Tom Catena, the RA Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Ashot Hakobyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA in Armenia H. E. Mr. Richard Mills, the Managing Director of “HayPost Trust Management” B.V. Juan Pablo Gechidjian, Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Humanitarian Initiative Arman Jilavyan.
